More than 60 national disability organizations — including Deaf Equality — have signed a joint letter to Chairman Cassidy (R-LA) and Ranking Member Sanders (I-VT) requesting a Senate Oversight Hearing in response to recent Executive actions that violate statutory requirements under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 (as amended by the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act).
These actions, taken without congressional approval, threaten critical protections for children and adults with disabilities. We encourage affiliates, advocates, and partners to share this letter and contact their Senators to call for an oversight hearing.
